Three Fort Bragg soldiers lost their lives early Saturday in a collision on N.C. 87 near Sandstone Lane. The North Carolina Highway Patrol identified the deceased as 22-year-old Romeo Mason Fleck, 21-year-old Charles Jackson, and 20-year-old Aydrian Larusch, all residents of Fort Bragg.

The accident occurred around 3:30 a.m. when the Toyota Camry carrying the soldiers, driven by Fleck, crossed the center line and collided with a Chevrolet Silverado operated by 28-year-old William T. Fleck and Jackson died at the scene along with Underwood, while Larusch, who was in the front passenger seat, sustained critical injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.
