Authorities have identified 30-year-old Evan Reed of Selma as the motorcyclist killed in a collision with a garbage truck earlier this week in Fresno County, California.

The crash occurred Monday around 1 p.m. at the intersection of South Temperance Avenue and East Clemenceau Avenue. Both vehicles were traveling north when the garbage truck turned, and Reed, attempting to pass, collided with the truck, resulting in his death at the scene.

The garbage truck driver was taken to a hospital for evaluation but sustained no reported injuries.

The California Highway Patrol has not released additional details, and the incident remains under review.
