Fatal Woodward Township truck accident death of William Mundy of Avis – Obituary
The driver who died Tuesday morning when his tri-axle logging truck veered off Route 220 and landed in thick brush in Woodward Township, just south of the city limits, has been identified as William Mundy from Avis. Investigators have determined that the 61-year-old Clinton County resident died of natural causes, according to Lycoming County Coroner Charles E. Kiessling Jr.
While driving north on Route 220, Mundy abruptly left the highway, traveling 50 to 70 yards into the brush and striking several trees, Kiessling reported. The incident occurred around 6:30 a.m., resulting in traffic being reduced to one lane for approximately five hours, according to a spokeswoman from the state Department of Transportation.
