Fatal Colorado Springs, Colorado pedestrian crash death of Anton Gerhard – Obituary

Officials have confirmed the identity of a pedestrian who was killed in a crash in Colorado Springs on March 10. The victim was 77-year-old Anton Gerhard.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, the incident occurred around 5:38 p.m. at the intersection of Wahsatch Avenue and Costilla Street. Gerhard was walking westbound on the north side of the intersection when a pickup truck making a left turn struck him.

Emergency responders attempted medical interventions at the scene, but Gerhard was pronounced dead. Authorities indicated that impairment was not considered a factor in the crash.

The El Paso County Coroner’s Office formally identified Gerhard, and law enforcement continues to review the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision.
