Jason Anthony Arrieta dies in fatal Phoenix police shooting

Fatal Phoenix police shooting death of Jason Anthony Arrieta – Obituary

Jason Anthony Arrieta, 40, was shot and killed by Phoenix police officers on March 13 following a domestic violence call near 35th Avenue and Osborn Road. Responding officers observed Arrieta running through the apartment complex and pursued him. When he was seen carrying a rifle and failed to comply with repeated commands to stop and drop the weapon, officers discharged their firearms.

Arrieta was provided first aid at the scene before being transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died. No officers were injured during the incident. The Arizona Department of Public Safety’s Major Incident Division is conducting a full investigation into the shooting.
