Fatal High Point shooting death of Jonal Hodge – Obituary

Jonal Hodge, 22, of High Point, North Carolina, was killed early Wednesday morning in a domestic-related shooting at the Oaks at Silver Ridge apartment complex on East Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Police officers arriving around 3 a.m. found Hodge inside a vehicle in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds and immediately attempted life-saving measures, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators identified the shooter as Hodge’s 34-year-old boyfriend, Adrin Rome. Later that morning, officers located Rome in a shed on Hendrix Street, where he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities confirmed no additional suspects are being sought, and the incident is being treated as the second criminal homicide in High Point for 2026.
