Matthew Wing dies in fatal Harrisonville car crash

Fatal Harrisonville car crash death of Matthew Wing – Obituary

Matthew Wing, 22, a junior track and field athlete at Concordia University, died Friday evening in a head-on collision on Interstate 49 in Harrisonville, Missouri. Wing was driving a Toyota Prius northbound with three passengers when a southbound Ford Explorer crossed into their lane and struck the vehicle at around 10:20 p.m.

The impact caused the Prius to catch fire while the Ford Explorer came to rest on the median. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but Wing was pronounced dead. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
