Authorities have identified 55-year-old Brenda Mitchell of Purvis as the victim of a deadly two-vehicle crash in Hattiesburg on Wednesday afternoon. Mitchell was transported to Forrest General Hospital following the collision but was pronounced dead there.

The accident occurred just after 1 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 49 and Old Highway 42. Police reported that two other individuals sustained injuries and were also taken to the hospital, though their conditions have not been released.
