Fatal Lackawannock Township, Pennsylvania car crash death of Rayburn George – Obituary

An 81-year-old Clarion resident, Rayburn George, lost his life following a multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 80 in Mercer County.

According to the Mercer County Coroner, the crash occurred Wednesday morning along the westbound lanes near the 7-mile marker in Lackawannock Township. Emergency responders pronounced George dead at the scene around 9:50 a.m.

Authorities confirmed that George suffered fatal blunt force injuries to his head and chest. His death has been officially classified as accidental.

Officials delayed releasing his identity until his family could be properly informed.

Pennsylvania State Police are continuing to examine the details surrounding the crash, and no further information has been made public at this time.
