Authorities in Sylvester have confirmed the identity of a man who died following a shooting incident over the weekend. The victim, 56-year-old Reginald Alford, succumbed to a gunshot wound after being transported to a local hospital.
According to investigators, Sylvester Police responded on Sunday, March 22, after Alford arrived at the hospital suffering from a gunshot injury. Despite medical efforts, he later died from his wounds.
Officials stated that the shooting took place at a Walmart in Sylvester. After being injured, Alford was driven to the hospital for treatment.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation, along with local police, has arrested 32-year-old Daktavius Antuan Tyler in connection with the case. He faces charges including malice murder, felony murder, and two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Authorities also confirmed that Alford’s body will be transported to the GBI Crime Lab in Macon, where an autopsy will be conducted as part of the ongoing investigation.
