Fatal Wilmington, Delaware car crash death of Brandon Hill – Obituary

Authorities have confirmed that three people were killed in a violent early-morning crash in downtown Wilmington. One of the victims has been identified as 41-year-old Brandon Hill, who, along with 48-year-old Curtis Jackson and 35-year-old Caroline Shockley, died when a vehicle struck their car and pushed it several blocks before it caught fire.

The crash occurred around 4:18 a.m. at 9th and Walnut streets. Surveillance footage shows the victims’ car being hit from behind and forced to 10th Street, where it became engulfed in flames. A memorial has since been placed near the site to honor the victims.

Authorities reported that 30-year-old Nicholas Resto, driving under the influence of alcohol and at high speed, caused the crash. He faces three counts of manslaughter and DUI charges and was taken into custody in stable condition. His bond has been set at $105,200 cash.

Family members described the profound impact of the loss. Hill, affectionately known as “Meatball (Sauce),” was a father of four who had overcome past hardships, including a shooting in 2004, and had rebuilt his life as a substitute teacher. His mother shared the grief of losing a son who was deeply connected to his family and community.

Investigators continue to process the scene and gather evidence, while the families of all three victims hope for justice in the aftermath of this tragic incident.
