Fatal Platte County, Missouri car crash death of Tessa Walker – Obituary
Authorities in Platte County are mourning the death of 18-year-old Tessa Walker, a high school senior who was killed in a rollover crash early Sunday morning.
Walker, a student at Park Hill High School, was inside a 2024 BMW M4 Sedan traveling southbound on MO 45 Highway near North Main Street in Farley when the vehicle went off the road, overturned, and caught fire around 4:20 a.m. Three other teenage passengers, including the driver, were injured, with injuries ranging from minor to severe. Walker was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Park Hill School District remembered Walker as a dedicated student and talented athlete, involved in volleyball, girls’ flag football, and track. She was also an active member of the AVID college-readiness program throughout her high school years, earning multiple academic honors and scholarships, including awards from Northwest Missouri State University, the Park Hill Education Foundation, and KC Scholars.
Walker had planned to attend Northwest Missouri State in the fall and was known for her commitment to justice and community service through the Midwest Innocence Project as part of Park Hill’s Professional Studies program. Her teachers and coaches described her as a remarkable young woman whose passing leaves a void in the school community.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
