Fatal Dayton shooting death of Willonte R. Yates – Obituary

Willonte R. Yates, 28, died after being critically injured in a double shooting Friday afternoon on the 2100 block of Piccadilly Avenue in Dayton. He was transported to Miami Valley Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Another man was also hospitalized in serious condition, though an update on his status has not been released. Witnesses reported hearing approximately a dozen gunshots and seeing a man struggling to back his car out of a driveway. Dayton police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this shooting.
