Fatal Madison hit-and-run crash death of Vincent Lipski – Obituary

Vincent Lipski, 61, lost his life Saturday night after being struck by a vehicle on Madison’s east side. The incident occurred near the intersection of Mesta Lane and Commercial Avenue around 7:45 p.m. while Lipski was crossing the street.

Authorities reported that the driver, 33-year-old Antwon Amos of Sun Prairie, initially stopped at the scene but then fled. Police quickly located and apprehended him, taking him to a hospital for a blood test. Amos faces charges including hit-and-run causing death, operating while suspended resulting in death, and driving under the influence.

The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that Lipski’s death was due to injuries from the collision, with further tests still ongoing. Both Madison police and the medical examiner continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this fatal crash.
