Authorities have identified the man who died last weekend when the car he was in veered off State Route 78 near MiraCosta College, crashing onto a gas station’s property.
John Edwards Jr., 60, was a passenger in an eastbound Hyundai sedan that went off the freeway and ended up in a commercial area on the 3800 block of Plaza Drive in Oceanside around 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Edwards was pronounced dead at the scene, the agency confirmed.
