Fatal Anderson County electrocution death of Tristan Garrett Stone – Obituary
The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office reported the death of an individual following an electrocution incident on Thursday.
Authorities were dispatched to assist the coroner’s office after a call from the Anderson Regional Joint Water System (ARJWS).
Officials stated that an ARJWS employee, identified as 23-year-old Tristan Garrett Stone from Anderson, was electrocuted while working at the Vanguard Road facility. Emergency medical services attempted to revive him, but tragically, Stone did not survive.
Chief Deputy Coroner Don McCown reported that Stone was repairing a malfunctioning air conditioning unit when he inadvertently cut a live wire.
The South Carolina Occupational Safety and Health Administration, along with the coroner’s office and the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, is conducting an investigation into the incident. The coroner noted that there have been no previous safety concerns reported at the facility.
