Fatal Berkeley County car crash claims the life of Juan Diego Ordonez Velazquez – Obituary
The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has identified a 35-year-old man who lost his life Friday night in an auto-pedestrian accident.
Juan Diego Ordonez Velazquez of St. Stephen was pronounced dead at the crash site on Forty-One Road near Spider Lane, according to Coroner Darnell D. Hartwell.
Around 8:50 p.m., the driver of a 1996 GMC pickup truck was heading south on Forty-One Road, approximately two miles from St. Stephen, when the vehicle struck three pedestrians, including two children.
Both injured children were transported to MUSC for medical care.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the incident. There is no update yet on whether any charges will be filed.
