A tragic accident early Wednesday morning claimed the life of 27-year-old Quinn Fraboni of Vernon Hills. Fraboni was involved in a collision on the Kennedy Expressway when a Volkswagen sedan, driven by 21-year-old Jakyla M. Hester, veered the wrong way and struck his Honda sedan.
The crash occurred at 4:31 a.m. near Cumberland Avenue in Cook County, prompting a response from Illinois State Police (ISP) troopers. The investigation revealed that Hester, allegedly operating her vehicle under the influence and without a valid driver’s license, was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of the expressway when the accident happened.
Fraboni succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash. Connor Flahive, owner of Flexx Personal Training where Fraboni was employed, expressed disbelief and sorrow over the sudden loss. Flahive remembered Fraboni as a vibrant and friendly presence, known for greeting clients warmly and building personal connections.
Tyler Bolger, a colleague and friend who had invited Fraboni to be a groomsman at his upcoming wedding, shared the widespread impact of Fraboni’s death. Bolger noted that Fraboni was a cherished figure in the Arlington Heights community, known for his strong relationships with clients and their families.
Following the accident, Hester was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and was later moved to Cook County Jail in Maywood. She faces charges including aggravated driving under the influence causing death, reckless homicide, and operating a vehicle without a valid driver’s license. A detention hearing is scheduled for her in the coming days.
