Fatal Middletown interstate crash death of Geiner Hildalgo – Obituary
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is probing a tragic head-on collision between two vehicles that claimed the life of Geiner Hildalgo on Saturday afternoon in Middletown. The accident occurred on I-75 north near the 33-mile marker around 3:15 p.m., after reports indicated a vehicle was traveling in the wrong direction, according to an OSP statement.
Hildalgo, 46, from Dayton, was driving a 2016 Nissan SUV northbound when he was struck head-on by Jesse Tinch, 36, of Franklin. Tinch was heading southbound in the northbound lanes of I-75 in a 2011 Ford pickup truck.
Both vehicles veered off the road and came to a halt against the concrete barrier on the left shoulder. The Ohio State Patrol confirmed that Hildalgo was pronounced dead at the scene, while Tinch was taken to Atrium Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
During the investigation, all northbound lanes of I-75 were closed, although the right two lanes were later reopened. Authorities have confirmed that all lanes are now accessible.
The Ohio State Patrol received assistance from Middletown Police, Fire and EMS, and the Warren County Coroner’s Office.
