Three teenage siblings lost their lives in a tragic car accident in Brampton on Saturday. Peel police confirmed the familial connection of the victims on Monday morning.
Emergency services were dispatched to the intersection of Elmvale Avenue and Conestoga Drive shortly after 2 a.m. following reports of a single-vehicle collision.
Authorities reported that the vehicle collided with a tree and subsequently caught fire. Once the flames were extinguished, the three occupants were discovered inside the vehicle and pronounced dead on the scene.
The siblings have been identified by their uncle, Alman Blackman, as 19-year-old Tirzah, 17-year-old Judah, and 15-year-old Pharaoh Blackman.
In an undated photo provided to CTV News Toronto, Judah, Tirzah, and Pharaoh Blackman are seen together.
“They all had hearts of gold. Anyone who knew them would agree: they were truly kind-hearted,” Alman Blackman shared on Monday.
“It’s heartbreaking they didn’t get the chance to experience the mistakes and lessons that come with youth. We all have stories of teenage recklessness… it’s just so tragic they missed out on those experiences.”
Alman Blackman also mentioned that the siblings’ mother and their other family members are devastated by the loss.
“Everyone is heartbroken, it’s a very sad time,” he said.
Prior to the collision, police believe the white Honda Civic was heading southbound and veered off the road for reasons still unknown.
The vehicle’s front end suffered severe damage from the impact, and debris was strewn across the crash site.
Witnesses in the neighborhood recounted to CP24 how they were jolted awake by a loud crash in the early hours of the morning.
Family and friends of the victims have since visited the crash site, leaving flowers and a teddy bear in their memory.
