The identity of a 28-year-old man who tragically lost his life in a multi-vehicle collision during the evening rush hour on Long Island has been revealed.
On Friday, July 19, at approximately 5:30 p.m., the accident occurred in Lynbrook.
Chris Diaz-Hernandez from Wantagh was riding a white 2010 Ducati motorcycle eastbound on Peninsula Boulevard when he crashed into the rear of a Nassau Inter-County Express (NICE) bus.
The bus, driven by a 40-year-old woman, was traveling westbound and turning left onto Hempstead Avenue at the time of the collision, according to Nassau County Police.
Debris from the incident also impacted a 2024 black Honda CRV driven by a 25-year-old woman. Diaz-Hernandez sustained critical injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead by a physician.
