Fatal Shawnee County car crash death of Chance M. Lucas – Obituary
On Sunday, authorities discovered the lifeless body of Chance M. Lucas, a 28-year-old resident of Topeka, following a car accident in Shawnee County.
According to the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred around 3:15 a.m. on July 21 in the 3200 block of Southwest Auburn Road.
Deputies reported that a 2019 Nissan Altima was traveling west on Southwest 33rd Street when it ran through a stop sign at Southwest Auburn Road and collided with a tree on the west side of the roadway.
Lucas, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
