Eric Housey Dies in Fatal Jasper County Single-Vehicle Crash
Fatal Jasper County car crash death of Eric Housey – Obituary
Eric Housey, 34, of Garnett, South Carolina, was killed in a single-vehicle accident in rural Jasper County.
The crash occurred on the night of Saturday, July 20, around 11:25 p.m. along U.S. Highway 321, near Cal Causeway Road in the Tarboro area, roughly nine and a half miles west of Ridgeland.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Housey was driving a 2019 Dodge Coupe northbound on U.S. Highway 321 when he veered off the road and collided with a tree.
The impact caused the vehicle to catch fire. Emergency responders pronounced Housey dead at the scene, as reported by SCHP Master Trooper Gary Miller.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, with further inquiries directed to the Jasper County Coroner’s Office. This incident marks the ninth traffic fatality in Jasper County for the year.
Over the weekend of July 19 to July 21, the South Carolina Department of Public Safety reported eight road fatalities across the state.
