Fatal Charleston County shooting death of Shashonna Bellman – Obituary
An 18-year-old woman, identified as Shashonna Bellman, was the victim of a fatal shooting on Wednesday morning, according to Charleston County Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal.
Bellman, a resident of Wadmalaw Island, was found dead at her home on Boy Scout Road around 8:39 a.m. due to a gunshot wound, O’Neal reported on Thursday afternoon.
The exact manner of her death is still under investigation, according to the Charleston County Coroner’s Office.
The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office is handling the investigation. Deputies were dispatched to the 2700 block of Boy Scout Road after receiving reports of a shooting on Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred just after 8:30 a.m., according to sheriff spokesperson Alexis Douglas.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered Bellman inside the residence, where a bystander was already performing CPR, as stated by Douglas.
