Fatal Milton shooting death of Ryan Simpson – Obituary
The Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Monday morning in Milton, identifying the victim as Ryan Simpson from Milton.
At approximately 4:47 a.m. on July 22, troopers responded to a report of a shooting in the 14000 block of Collins Street. Upon arrival, they discovered Simpson had sustained a gunshot wound to the upper torso.
Officers immediately began life-saving measures, and Simpson was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
Tragically, on July 23, Simpson succumbed to his injuries, according to the DSP.
Preliminary investigations by the DSP suggest Simpson was residing in a shed on the property when multiple shots were fired into the shed, striking him. The identity of the shooter and the motive remain unknown and under investigation.
