Philadelphia authorities are on the hunt for Amir Jones, 30, linked to a deadly shooting in Carroll Park that claimed the lives of three individuals and left six others injured early Sunday morning.
The incident occurred during a block party on the 1200 block of North Alden Street, where a crowd of over 100 people was present when gunfire erupted around 2 a.m.
The victims have been identified as Sakayi Robinson, 23, Akil Jones, 33, and Rashie Jones, 29, with the latter two being brothers. Among the six wounded was Tahir Shoatz, 28, who faces charges of homicide and aggravated assault in connection with the shooting.
Police believe Jones will likely face similar charges and confirmed he was among those injured. At the time of his last sighting, Jones was wearing camouflage shorts and a white T-shirt.
Investigators recovered three firearms, 36 shell casings, and five bullets from the scene, noting that the gunfight stemmed from an argument.
Anyone with information about the shooting or Jones’ location is urged to contact Philadelphia police at (215) 686-8477. Witnesses who spot Jones are advised to call 911 immediately.
In a related note, authorities are also searching for three suspects involved in the fatal shooting of 16-year-old Jamil Wyatt in the Oxford Circle neighborhood of Northeast Philadelphia.
As of now, 2024 has recorded 150 homicides, marking a 37% reduction compared to the same period last year, according to police data.
