Fatal Lemon Grove hit-and-run death of Brian Colvin – Obituary
Authorities have identified a man killed in a hit-and-run accident earlier this week in Lemon Grove.
Brian Colvin, 44, from Spring Valley, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital after being hit by a vehicle on Monday in the 8300 block of Broadway, according to Lt. Michael Krugh from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies were alerted to the hit-and-run incident around 2:15 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Colvin lying in the center lane of Broadway. Although he was conscious and breathing at the scene, he later passed away at the hospital.
The sheriff’s department has determined the cause of death to be blunt force trauma and classified it as a homicide.
Lt. Krugh reported that witnesses described Colvin standing in the road and conversing with occupants of an unknown vehicle shortly before the vehicle accelerated and deliberately struck him before fleeing the scene.
