Fatal Allen County truck crash death of Brad Anthony Nacio – Obituary
The identity of the man discovered Thursday morning on Interstate 69 has been confirmed. Brad Anthony Nacio, 48, from Indianapolis, was the victim. Officials are actively seeking the driver of a semi-truck believed to be linked to the deadly incident.
Nacio’s body was found around 3 a.m. near the 319 mile-marker of the highway. Authorities have determined that he was operating a semi-truck near Union Chapel Road shortly before his death.
The coroner ruled his cause of death as multiple blunt force injuries resulting from the crash, and deemed the incident accidental.
Sgt. Adam Griffith reported that the Allen County Sheriff’s Department is collaborating with Indiana State Police, the Indiana Department of Transportation, Michigan DOT, and other agencies to review traffic camera footage and weigh station records in search of the involved semi-truck and driver.
Though the semi-truck fled the scene before law enforcement arrived, parts of the vehicle were recovered nearby. Officers are searching for a red or maroon Volvo semi-truck with damage on the front passenger side and a missing mirror.
