A 35-year-old woman, Chanel Crosby, who had been reported missing, was found dead in the parking lot of the West End MARTA station in Atlanta. Her family had notified authorities of her disappearance on July 14th.
Family’s Search Ends in Heartbreak
Chanel Crosby’s family, who had been clinging to the hope of her safe return, was devastated by the news from the Atlanta Police. Her body was discovered inside a vehicle in the parking area around 5:30 PM on Friday.
Last Known Contact and Rising Worries
Chanel’s father, Don Wilson, had last communicated with her around 11:00 PM on the night she went missing. Chanel was last seen leaving for Macon, Georgia, with her boyfriend, Jamal Harvey. When Harvey returned without her, alarm bells rang, especially since Chanel left behind her three young children, aged seven months, nine years, and three years.
Investigation Underway
The MARTA Police confirmed the location of the body on their property, but the Atlanta Police Department (APD) is handling the investigation. The case has been classified as a death investigation, with the cause of death still undetermined.
Family’s Deepening Grief
This tragic event compounds the grief of the Crosby family, who are also seeking justice for Chanel’s son, Jamarion. The 13-year-old was fatally shot in September 2022, in the woods behind a Lithonia neighborhood. The Atlanta Police are still searching for his murderer.
