A tragic accident in Greenville County, South Carolina, has resulted in the death of Eddie Alverson, as reported by the coroner’s office.
The incident occurred on Friday afternoon on Reedy Fork Road near Old Hundred Road in Pelzer.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a 2002 Dodge pickup truck, driven by Eddie Alverson, halted at a stop sign on Old Hundred Road. As the truck proceeded into the intersection, it was struck by a dump truck traveling east on Reedy Fork Road.
Both vehicles veered off the left side of the road and collided with a tree, troopers said.
The Greenville County Coroner’s Office confirmed that the driver of the Dodge pickup, 79-year-old Eddie Alverson, did not survive the crash.
