Authorities are on the hunt for the driver of a second truck involved in a deadly collision after discovering the body of a trucker on an Indiana highway.
The body of 48-year-old Brad Anthony Nacio was located early Thursday morning, just before 3 a.m., at the 317-mile marker along Interstate 69 in Allen County, Indiana.
Reports from WANE News indicate that Nacio’s body was found near a semi-truck parked on the highway’s shoulder. Upon investigation, police discovered evidence suggesting a red or maroon Volvo commercial vehicle was involved in the crash but had left the scene. Authorities believe the Volvo truck may have sustained damage to its front passenger side and could be missing a mirror.
Fox 59 reported that Nacio’s body was identified, and the coroner determined his death was caused by multiple blunt injuries from the crash, which has been classified as an accident. It is believed that Nacio was operating the semi-truck found parked on the shoulder before the accident occurred.
Authorities are now reviewing traffic camera footage and weigh station records in their effort to locate the driver of the red Volvo tractor-trailer. The Indiana Department of Transportation, Michigan DOT, and other agencies are involved in this investigation.
