The lifeless body of 20-year-old Yashashree Shinde, marked with multiple injuries and stab wounds, was discovered in the underbrush near the Uran railway station in Navi Mumbai.
Reports from NDTV, citing police sources, indicate that Shinde was brutally murdered, allegedly by her boyfriend.
Shinde, a resident of Uran, had been reported missing prior to the grim discovery. She had commuted to her workplace in Belapur.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Vivek Pansare revealed that authorities received a call around 2 a.m. about a girl’s body found in the bushes near the Uran railway station.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Shinde’s murder stemmed from a troubled romantic relationship, according to the officials’ reports.
The primary suspect, Shinde’s boyfriend, is currently missing.
In response, the police have assembled five teams to locate the suspect, and a murder case has been filed.
In another development, Mumbai police recently resolved the murder case of Guru Waghmare, a notorious criminal killed at a spa. The suspects were apprehended with the assistance of a tattooed list of potential threats on Waghmare’s body. One of those arrested, spa owner Santosh Sherekar, was on this list.
Waghmare, 48, who posed as a Right to Information activist despite having numerous criminal charges including extortion, rape, and molestation, was killed at the Soft Touch Spa in Worli. During the autopsy, it was revealed that he had tattooed the names of individuals he perceived as threats.
Sherekar, the spa owner, allegedly contracted the killing of Waghmare due to frustration over his extortion demands, according to police sources.
