Alifia Soeryo, a 22-year-old Indonesian international student, tragically lost her life when a tree fell on her while she was taking a break during her jog in Park 10 on War Memorial Dr, North Adelaide, on Wednesday afternoon.
The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. when a large branch from a gum tree unexpectedly broke off and struck Soeryo. Despite the swift arrival of emergency services, they were unable to save her.
Friends and acquaintances have shared their sorrow and memories on social media. A friend, who asked to be identified only as Josh, described Soeryo as a “loving” and “beautiful” person, highlighting her warmth and friendliness. “She always had a smile on her face and was one of the most beautiful people I ever met,” Josh said.
The grief-stricken friends of Soeryo, known affectionately as Fi or Fa, have left heartfelt tributes on her social media profiles.
