Charlie Quinn Dies in Fatal NSW Car Crash
Fatal NSW Car Crash Death of Charlie Quinn – Obituary
Charlie Quinn, 18, and her friends Brooke Sorlie, 20, and Aaron French, 20, tragically lost their lives on Sunday in a car accident at the junction of Bungendore and Collector roads in Tarago, NSW.
The vehicle, driven by Lachlan Stuckey, 21, veered off the road and overturned.
Stuckey, who was behind the wheel of a Hyundai i35, managed to extricate himself from the wreckage but sustained spinal fractures. He is currently in the hospital under police supervision, with no charges filed as of now.
The group, all from Nowra, had been returning from a weekend trip to Canberra. Stuckey’s girlfriend was Quinn, while Sorlie and French were also a couple.
Quinn’s father described her as “the light of our lives,” expressing profound grief over the loss and extending sympathy to all affected by the tragedy. Friends and family of Sorlie are similarly devastated, remembering her for her ever-present smile and recent excitement over a new horse named “Falcon.”
One of the first responders on the scene shared with the Daily Mail that CPR attempts were unsuccessful as the victims had already been removed from the vehicle by the time police arrived.
The responder recounted the distressing cries for help from Stuckey as he pleaded for assistance for his girlfriend.
Despite the prompt arrival of paramedics around 1pm, it was too late to save the three passengers.
The NSW Police are investigating the incident and preparing a report for the Coroner. Hume Police District Commander Superintendent Linda Bradbury described the scene as “horrific” in a statement to the Goulburn Post.
