Fatal Palestine car crash death of Gary McShan – Obituary
The Palestine Police Department has confirmed the identity of the man who perished in a two-vehicle collision on Tuesday.
The incident occurred shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Crockett Road, specifically in the 2100 block. Upon arrival, officers discovered a Ford Explorer and a motorcycle in the roadway.
The motorcycle rider was unresponsive when emergency personnel arrived at the scene.
According to the investigation, Cathrine Reagan, 40, from Elkhart, was driving a silver Ford Explorer when she exited the Palestine Mall parking lot and entered Crockett Road. Gary McShan, 59, also from Elkhart, was traveling south on Crockett Road on his motorcycle. Reagan’s vehicle pulled out in front of McShan, leading to a collision where the motorcycle struck the driver’s side of the Ford Explorer.
McShan was transported to Palestine Regional Medical Center by EMS but was pronounced dead upon arrival at the emergency room.
The precinct 2 justice of the peace is conducting an inquest into the accident.
