Fatal Antioch traffic collision death of Linda Wooldridge of Antioch – Obituary
Authorities have released the names of two individuals who were tragically killed in separate traffic accidents on Saturday.
Linda Wooldridge, 29, of Antioch, was identified as the bicyclist who lost her life early Saturday morning.
She was fatally struck by a vehicle driven by an individual suspected of being intoxicated at the intersection of Lone Tree Way and Sagebrush Drive around 12:10 a.m. Wooldridge died at the scene.
The coroner’s office also identified the motorcyclist who died later in the day as Thomas Trost, 32, also of Antioch.
Trost was involved in a collision with another vehicle at approximately 7:43 p.m. in the 900 block of W. 10th Street. He was transported to a hospital where he subsequently passed away.
In the case involving Wooldridge, the driver, a 38-year-old from Antioch, stayed at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, resulting in serious injury or death.
The driver’s name has not been released, and it remains unclear whether formal charges have been filed.
Regarding Trost’s accident, police have not disclosed details about the other vehicle involved.
Investigators have indicated that speed was a factor in the crash based on witness statements and video evidence, but they have not specified which vehicle was speeding.
