Fatal Grenadine island drowning death of David John Foster and Rosaline Foster – Obituary
David John Foster, aged 76, and his wife, 77-year-old Rosaline Foster, were found deceased on Paradise Beach in L’Esterre, located on the Grenadine island of Carriacou, on Saturday.
Initial indications suggest that David may have suffered a heart attack, prompting Rosaline to attempt a rescue, which tragically resulted in her drowning.
The Royal Grenada Police Force initially referred to the incident as an apparent drowning. However, later statements from Cpl Ardell Lewis suggested that the situation may have involved additional factors.
Mr. Foster’s body was discovered on the sand and was pronounced dead at the scene, while Mrs. Foster was transported to Princess Royal Hospital in Carriacou, where she was also declared deceased.
Authorities are awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination to clarify the exact cause of death. This unfortunate event adds to the list of four vacation-related fatalities in Grenada this year.
Last month, American tourists Ralph Hendry and Kathleen Brandel also died under suspicious circumstances, with their deaths currently classified as homicides, despite their bodies still being missing.
Investigators suspect they might have been thrown overboard during a yacht hijacking.
