Fatal Armuchee Creek death of Alfred Franklin Trapp Jr. – Obituary
Floyd County Deputy Coroner Chris Giles has confirmed that the body discovered in Armuchee Creek belonged to 64-year-old Alfred Franklin Trapp Jr. from Rome.
Giles reported that Trapp was located near the creek’s bank under a bridge on US 27 close to GA 156, partially submerged in about eighteen inches of water.
He noted that Trapp was found wearing only pants, with his shirt, shoes, and cellphone left on a nearby bank.
Family members indicated that they last heard from Trapp a week prior to the discovery of his body.
Authorities have indicated that no signs of foul play are suspected; however, the body has been sent to the GBI crime lab for an autopsy.

Floyd County police have initiated an investigation following the discovery of a deceased white male floating in Armuchee Creek.
According to Floyd County Police, the body was found just before 3 pm by a fisherman near GA 156.
Floyd County Police Department Public Affairs Officer Michael Bell reported that the body was retrieved from a difficult-to-access area of the river.
