The remains of a missing St. Petersburg woman, Kelli Fisher, have been discovered following a house fire, according to police reports.
The St. Petersburg Police Department had been searching for 42-year-old Fisher since her disappearance was reported in late July.
Authorities stated that Fisher was last seen driving her aunt’s car to run errands, but the vehicle was found abandoned in an empty lot on July 18, with no sign of Fisher at the scene.
On July 28, Fisher’s remains were discovered after a fire broke out at a house on Prescott Street South, next to her aunt’s residence. Police noted that Fisher occasionally visited the home.
The Pinellas County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the remains were Fisher’s, and her family was notified on Wednesday evening.
Currently, the cause and manner of Fisher’s death have not been disclosed, and no arrests have been made in connection with the case.
