Levi Benjamin Wilson, a 27-year-old from Woodstock, tragically lost his life in Cherokee County when a tree crashed onto his vehicle during a storm. His family remembers him for his enthusiasm for the outdoors and his uplifting personality.
On Tuesday evening, shortly before 8 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a fallen tree hitting a moving car at 5767 Vaughn Road in Canton.
According to a representative from the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office, when officers arrived at the scene, they found Wilson deceased in his vehicle. There were no other occupants in the car.
Capt. Jay Baker confirmed that Wilson was alone in the vehicle and was identified by the sheriff’s office on Wednesday.
Wilson’s obituary highlights his vibrant spirit and love for life. It notes, “Levi’s infectious positivity touched all who knew him throughout his life. His passions ranged from video gaming to embracing the great outdoors. He found peace in fishing, enjoyed the excitement of dirt biking, and cherished moments spent in nature.”
The storm that swept through metro Atlanta on Tuesday night caused significant damage, including falling trees and downed power lines.
Wilson is survived by his parents, three brothers, their families, and other relatives. His funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Friday at Sosebee Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, followed by burial at Macedonia Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will welcome visitors at the funeral home starting at noon on Friday.
