Fatal Provo Canyon car crash claims the lives of Scarleth Fuerzalda Navarro and Justin Carnales Navarro – Obituary.
The Utah County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the deaths of a man and woman after their vehicle plunged off a mountainside in Provo Canyon.
The incident occurred on Saturday at approximately 10:30 p.m., when the car veered off Kyhv Peak Road and rolled 200 yards down the mountain before coming to rest on its roof.
Authorities announced on Thursday that 24-year-old Scarleth Fuerzalda Navarro was ejected from the vehicle shortly after it left the road. The driver, 23-year-old Justin Carnales Navarro, also succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash.
Two other passengers survived the accident with less severe injuries. According to one of the survivors, speed was a contributing factor in the crash. No further details have been provided at this time.
