The Larimer County Coroner’s Office has confirmed that Jason Marmion, a 63-year-old resident of Loveland, was the victim of a deadly collision at the intersection of 14th Street Southeast and South Garfield Avenue on July 26.
Marmion was declared deceased at the scene after his vehicle was struck by another car while attempting to turn left onto 14th Street Southeast. The autopsy conducted on Monday revealed that the cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries, with the incident being classified as an accident.
Marmion’s obituary reflects on his life as a devoted father, grandfather, and partner. It describes him as “a beacon of kindness and curiosity who enriched the lives of all who knew him.” He was recognized for his work as a master gardener, a 4-H leader, and a small business owner.
The crash occurred around 9 p.m. on July 26 when a Ford Escape, driven by a Greeley resident, collided with the driver’s side of Marmion’s Honda Accord. The Ford Escape, heading west on 14th Street Southeast, had the right of way at the intersection.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, and there were no other injuries reported. The collision resulted in the closure of 14th Street Southeast for approximately three hours.
