Fatal Warren County shooting death of Korey O’Neill Sims – Obituary
An 18-year-old man from Warren County, identified as Korey O’Neill Sims, was tragically killed in a shooting that occurred Sunday night in the 100 block of Abraham Drive.
According to Coroner Doug Huskey, Sims, a recent graduate of St. Aloysius High School in Vicksburg, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace reported that investigators are actively following leads but have yet to make any arrests. Around 9:30 PM, emergency units were dispatched to the location, where they discovered four individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.
While one person, Sims, was declared deceased by Huskey, the other three victims were taken to nearby hospitals by Vicksburg Fire Department ambulances. Initial reports suggest their injuries, though serious, are not considered life-threatening.
Sheriff Pace noted that the shooting appears to have occurred in the yard of the residence.
Preliminary details reveal that two of the victims are from Fayette, Mississippi, while Sims and another injured person are from Warren County. At this time, no further information is available, and authorities are refraining from speculating about the incident’s cause.
