Fatal Evansville shooting death of Keymontai K. Madison – Obituary
Evansville police are searching for 22-year-old Keymontai K. Madison following a shooting that resulted in the death of 23-year-old Kevion K. Mann on Sunday afternoon in Downtown Evansville.
The incident took place outside the Kennedy Towers apartment complex on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at around 3:22 p.m., where Mann suffered fatal gunshot wounds.
The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Mann died from a gunshot wound to the head, as noted by Chief Deputy Coroner David Anson. Mann was found on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to Deaconess Hospital.
On Monday, authorities apprehended 25-year-old Mark A. Dow III, who faces a preliminary charge of assisting a criminal. Dow is accused of being the getaway driver for Madison, who allegedly shot Mann. Surveillance footage shows Dow waiting in a white Chevrolet sedan and then fleeing with Madison after the shooting.
Evansville Police Department spokeswoman Sgt. Trudy Day revealed that a warrant has been issued for Madison’s arrest, who is now charged with murder. Detectives are continuing their investigation into the incident.
