In the early hours of Sunday, a tragic shooting occurred in Chicago’s Chinatown neighborhood, resulting in the death of 39-year-old Joseph M. Garcia. The incident took place around 3:01 a.m. in the 2100 block of South Canal Street, as reported by the Chicago police.
A confrontation erupted between two groups outside, escalating from a verbal argument into a violent altercation. During the commotion, someone began firing shots. Garcia was struck and pronounced dead at the scene.
Additionally, three other individuals sustained injuries in the shooting. A 27-year-old man was rushed to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds and remains in critical condition. Meanwhile, a 34-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, and a 21-year-old was hit in the calf. Both are expected to recover, according to the authorities.
At present, no arrests have been made, and the Chicago police are actively investigating the case.
