Gerry Coyle, 65, tragically passed away after falling 500 feet from Mount Snowdon in Wales while attempting to photograph the sunset. The incident occurred last October.
According to the Daily Mail, an inquest revealed that Mr. Coyle had set up his camera equipment on the summit following a two-week photography tour along Britain’s west coast. He was trying to capture a dramatic shot when he accidentally walked off the path and fell.
His remains were discovered six months later in a ravine. Mr. Coyle, a father of two from Rugby, Warwickshire, had previously texted his wife Pat to confirm his safe arrival at the 3,500-foot peak, as reported by the Daily Mirror.
A search effort, which included an RAF helicopter and search dogs, was initiated after Mr. Coyle did not return to his hotel for the night.
