According to Columbus police, the two men were among three individuals traveling in a Jeep Grand Cherokee when the vehicle collided with a utility pole at a high speed before crashing into a tree in a residential yard. Both Julian and Jaivon were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not disclosed whether the two victims were related.

 

A third occupant of the vehicle, who was also ejected, was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. The Columbus Police Accident Investigation Unit is currently examining the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Delamater was placing a 4-year-old child into a car seat when the collision occurred. The child and their mother, 33-year-old Angela Baker of Towanda, were also outside the vehicle and sustained minor injuries in the crash.

 

Scott had been drinking at a nearby bar shortly before the incident. Authorities found an open bottle of beer near his vehicle. At the time of the crash, he was already under investigation for another DUI offense from the previous month.

 

Scott has since been sentenced to a minimum of five years and three months, up to a maximum of 20 and a half years, for charges including homicide by motor vehicle while under the influence, reckless endangerment, and multiple DUI offenses.

 

Bradford County District Attorney Richard Wilson expressed sorrow over the tragedy, noting that while the sentences were the maximum allowed by law, no punishment could undo the damage caused by Scott’s actions.
