The assailant, identified as Paul D., is said to have arrived at Dekeister’s farmhouse around 3 p.m. He shot and killed Dekeister in front of his family. Dekeister had previously employed the suspect in a security role, but the two were reportedly involved in a dispute.

Following the murder, Paul D. drove toward the migrant camp near Loon-Plage, where he harbored a deep-seated resentment toward the migrants. His next victims were two Kurdish men, ages 19 and 30, reportedly of Iranian descent. He shot both of them at point-blank range, leaving them with no chance to survive.

One of the survivors, 25-year-old Matin, described the horrifying scene: “At first, we thought the gunman would shoot into the air, but then he loaded his weapon and aimed at us. We saw Azrael, the Angel of Death. We faced death twice in a single day, but somehow, we survived.”

The rampage continued when Paul D. killed two security guards working for the Eamus Cork Security company. Marc Lehmus, 37, and Aurélien Cugny, 33, both fathers, were shot while patrolling the northern French coastline to assist the police.

Video footage from the scene revealed two heavily damaged sedans and debris scattered across the road. Investigations are ongoing as authorities work to determine the exact circumstances of the collision.

Ali was ejected from the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries. Despite efforts by passing motorists to rescue him from the burning wreck, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

The Hyundai Sonata also flipped multiple times and came to rest upside down along the left shoulder of the highway. Its driver, a 21-year-old man, declined medical transportation after being evaluated by emergency responders.

 

The southbound lanes of I-81 were closed at Exit 65, with traffic detoured until the highway reopened at 3:35 a.m. Authorities identified “racing on highways” as the primary cause of the crash.

 

Responding agencies included East Pennsboro EMS, Hampden Township EMS, Northeast Fire Department, East Pennsboro Fire Police, and the Pennsylvania State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit.
