Christopher Lee Morris, 37, from Little Mountain, tragically died after his vehicle crashed on Westwoods Drive near Chapin on Friday.
Morris was driving a 2016 Ford Explorer when it veered off the road, hitting a mailbox, culvert, and embankment before overturning. The crash occurred about one mile west of Chapin on the 400 block of Westwoods Drive. The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the incident.

At the time, Priddy was crossing the lane of travel in front of the Jeep. Despite her presence, the Jeep continued its southbound path and struck her.
She was immediately transported to a nearby hospital but later succumbed to her injuries. The Delaware State Police are continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash.

Uphold’s vehicle rolled over, struck a tree, and the tree then fell onto the car. The direction he was traveling at the time of the crash has not yet been clarified. The road was closed for about three hours while the investigation took place.
The Thurston County Coroner’s Office has scheduled a medical examination for Tuesday to determine the cause of death.
