The shooting occurred around 11 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, along the 1500 block of North Carlisle Street, just outside off-campus housing for Temple students. Responding to reports of a person with a gun, officers from the 22nd District arrived to find Myles lying on the street with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was rushed to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:15 p.m.

 

The suspect has been identified as 23-year-old Nicholas Iaderosa, who lived nearby on the 1400 block of North Carlisle Street. Police arrested Iaderosa at the scene, and he now faces murder charges along with other related offenses. A third individual was also taken into custody as a witness.

 

During their investigation, authorities recovered two firearms and a quantity of drugs at the scene. Police believe one of the weapons belonged to the shooter.

 

Temple University President John Fry expressed his sorrow over Myles’ death, describing the loss as devastating for the university community. He assured students and staff that the school is cooperating fully with the Philadelphia Police Department as the investigation continues. Fry emphasized that Myles was a well-respected student at Klein College of Media and Communication, where both faculty and classmates held him in high regard.

 

The university is offering counseling services to students and support programs for faculty and staff. Plans to honor Myles’ memory are being discussed by Temple University, Klein College, and the Division of Student Affairs.

Following medical clearance, Harvey was taken into custody and booked into Monterey County Jail. He now faces multiple charges, including murder and DUI resulting in bodily harm.
